1) The Polite Girl In Canteen 1

Name: Alicia

Her hair is black with light brown highlights. Her bangs cover her eyebrows and touches the tip of her spectacles just right. She is wearing a light brown shirt with white, black striped bottoms down to her knees. She wears a green belt across her waist.

She has a silver and pink watch on her left wrist. Her elbows lean lightly on the table. She holds the pair of grey chopsticks with her first three fingers on her right. The chopsticks are crossed as she picks up food; the wrong way to hold chopsticks. She lightly holds the tip of the spoon and uses the chopsticks to push rice into it before putting it into her mouth. She chews discreetly, like she has a secret.

She sits a little hunched and looks intently into her bento, carefully cutting the meat into bits. She sits neatly with her legs placed together, tucking them into the space below the chair. Her laptop is in a black case and is placed on her lap securely. She listens to her friends’ conversation and occasionally smiles, but doesn’t speak with her mouth full. She waits till she swallows her food before commenting on what her friends are talking about. She likes to push her glasses up and sweep her fringe to the side, removing the obstruction to her vision.

She finishes her food and her right hand dangles above her bento box, her elbows still leaning on the table. She turns around and reaches into her bag, fishing out a packet of tissue paper a few moments after her hand wanders about inside the bag. She takes out a piece and offers tissue to her friends. Her friends refuse and she puts it back into her bag before patting the corners of her mouth. She throws the piece of tissue paper into her empty bento box and clasps her hands together, her elbows leaning on the edge of the table.

She gazes at her friend talking and seems to be paying attention to whatever she is saying. She now crosses her arms and again, sweeps the strayed bangs to the side. Her friends get up and start to leave the table and she picks up her green bag, sliding it over her left shoulder and lifts her laptop into her arms. She walks slowly, following closely behind her friends.

2) The Fidgety Guy In The Library

Name: James

He is wearing a light green shirt with dark green stripes at the top. His shirt is accompanied with blue jeans and white and blue sport shoes. His black hair is slicked back and spiked to reveal his wide forehead completely. His legs are rested a little apart from each other and are neatly tucked into the space underneath his chair. Only his toes are touching the ground, his two legs shaking occasionally.

He is sitting at the edge of the chair, leaning more towards the table. His elbows are rested comfortably on the table, his hands clasped and resting his chin on them. He concentrates on the screen of his laptop and seems to be reading something. He is accompanied by two girls who are also focused on what they are doing.

Now he slides his feet straight forward, placing one foot over the other and he puts down his hands on the table. His left hand scratches his right shoulder and his hand stays in that position for a while. He leans the right side of his face on his hand once and his hand snaps back to where it was. He then stretches his arms downwards, clasping his hands again as he does so, before resting the left side of his face on his left hand and his right hand on the side of his chair.

He leans to his left and takes a quick look at the paper his friend shows him, and makes a short and quick cough into his balled up hand. He pushes up his glasses with his index finger, then pointing towards the screen before typing something on his laptop.

He stands up now, pulling his shirt down to straighten it as he does so. He then walks over to the bookshelves behind them and his finger lightly trails over the spine of the books, looking intently at the titles. He finally stops at one and takes it out, flipping the first few pages as if checking if he fished out the correct book. He closes it and walks back to his desk and his friends flip the book for their information.

They are getting ready to leave now, he stands up and hops over the wire connecting his laptop to the charger. He seems to have lost balance for a while before steadying himself and he starts packing up, shoving papers into his blue and white sling bag. He pulls down the screen of his laptop and puts it gently into it’s black casing. He leans his body onto the table, helping his friends clear the table. He slings his bag over his right shoulder and holds his laptop in his left hand. He walks slowly towards the exit, his steps silent.
